Tuesday, June 3
rivervision was up and happy when i awoke this morning. yeah! i get stressed when my email is down.
its been a fairly uneventful day. the house got a quick cleaning yesterday due to the help of my downstairs neighbor. she's the best neighbor anyone could ever have. so, today is totally laid back. hung out with the cats, read more of "prodigal summer", took a nap.. now i'm up.
baring witness photos are almost done. yeah! i've just got some work to do in order to get it to the printers.
and i've not mentioned it, but eric robert rudolph was caught. he's accused in the bombings of 3 women's clinics that prvide abortions- 2 in atlanta, 1 in birmingham, an atlanta lesbian night club (the otherside), and centennial olympic park. news sources are speculating that he'll get the death penalty. now, if the olympics weren't involved and it was just the women's clinics and the otherside do you think this speculation would be going on? i doubt it. and the reactions of the police in murphy, nc where he was found... they said they were going to keep him in his prayers. and i've read quotes from the people of murphy who say they understand what he did-- though violence is a bit much.. gotta love the south, dontcha? its stories like this one that make me really glad i've left the south. yeah, atlanta-- during the bombings-- is an old stomping ground of mine.. as is western north carolina-- where murphy is.
and finally, quote for the day, via jamie anderson's email newsletter:
"The world needs a new weapon, the estrogen bomb. Imagine: You drop it on an area of violent content, and men throw down their guns, hug each other, apologize, say it was all their fault, and then start to clean up the mess." - Guerrilla Girls, activist artists, www.guerrillagirls.com
