i live in the most beautiful eugene, oregon. i'm currently disabled due to treatment resistant severe depression. i've been blogging since election day of 2000.
i'm born and raised in the mountains of southwestern virginia. i could join the daughters of the american revolution, i don't think they'd like me cause i hear they like to throw tea parties instead of rallies and revolutions.

Sunday, May 25
well, i just got an email from my aunt. my grandparents' ashes are going to be interred at saint mary's episcopal church, in portsmouth ri, in july. i knew it was happening, dad told me about it, but he didn't invite me. my aunt did. i've already got plans to head east about a week later. i wanted to go to rhode island with them because they are also going to visit my great uncle george's kids-- family i've never met. i never met uncle george either, he died before i was born. my grandfather had 2 brothers, one who died at 2 and then george. for some reason the 2 families didn't get together much, though when my grandfather was dying one of george's daughters was a great help to us as she is a nurse who works with old folks. anyhow, now i'm torn.. i get homesick when i'm away from eugene, but the chance to say good-bye to my grandparents one more time would be really special. i think i'll call mom and talk to her about it. and dad too.
